Bio

Michael Darda is a Managing Director, Chief Economist and Macrostrategist at ROTH MKM. He joined MKM Partners in 2004, prior to its acquisition by Roth Capital Partners in 2023. Before his tenure at MKM Partners, he worked as an international economist and macro strategist at Polyconomics, an economics consulting firm founded by the late Jude Wanniski. His career began in the Wisconsin State Legislature, where he gained experience in budget analysis and speechwriting. He is a frequent guest on financial television and radio, particularly during times of uncertainty. In addition, he is frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron's, and other financial publications. Having started his career in the Wisconsin State Legislature, Mr. Darda understands the legislative process and the likely effects of policy decisions on markets. He was a recurring guest at the prestigious Santa Columba monetary conference, hosted by the late Nobel Prize winner Robert A. Mundell. He has also been a guest lecturer at Columbia University, focusing on significant trends that drive markets.

A native of Wisconsin, Mr. Darda graduated with honors in Economics and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Darda holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and achieved a silver medal at the 2021 IBJJF World Master Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the brown belt division. He resides in Naples, Florida, with his wife Meg, who works as a healthcare executive, and their Weimaraner named Claus Von Darda.
